The company traditionally unveils its latestAndroid phones, watches and other devices in October – after the likes ofAppleandSamsung– but has opted for a late summer presentation instead.
It takes place today – Tuesday 13 August – and will be streamed online. We’re expecting to see the newPixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro andPixel 9 Pro XLphones, a Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and likely a Pixel Watch 3 and new Pixel Buds, too.

What to expect
We’ve already had several Google device launches over the last few days, including theGoogle TV Streamer(which replaces Chromecast as the company’s mainstreaming device) and a new Nest Learning Thermostat. So, we don’t expect any more smart home news.
This event will instead focus on other smart devices – phones, smartwatches and headphones. According to a myriad of rumours, leaks and even official teases, that is likely to include the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, two sizes ofPixel Watch 3, and some Pixel Buds Pro 2 in-ears.

Its AI systems are being adopted right across its device portfolio, including Chromebooks and Nest smart home kit, so we’ll find out a lot more about the different applications we should be able to use over the coming months.
There might also be talk on rivals and partners adopting some Gemini features, such as Apple, which is tipped to be building support for Google’s AI assistant into its own Apple Intelligence tools in the coming months.
Perhaps that’s why Google has shifted its event to precede Apple and its traditional SeptemberiPhonelaunch shindig – it wants to get the Gemini details out there beforehand.
