Even though summer is nearly here, it doesn’t mean that the rain has stopped. The Met Office even warned Brits to expect the wettest summer since 2012, which only means one thing…damp.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been testing theNewentor Dehumidifier. Whilst it doesn’t have any smart features, it’s an affordable dehumidifier that has a range of impressive and useful features. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to give it a go.
Newentor Dehumidifier review: price and availability
The Newentor Dehumidifier is available fromAmazonfor an RRP of £219.99. However, there’s currently a £50 voucher at checkout, taking it down to £169.99.
This is a good price for a dehumidifier, especially if you’re looking for a basic model without all the bells and whistles.

Newentor Dehumidifier review: unboxing and set up
That being said, I was relieved to find castors on the bottom, which made it easy to transport around my downstairs.
Newentor Dehumidifier review: design and features
One reason why the Newentor Dehumidifier interested me is because the brand teamed up with TCL last year to introduce turbo compressor technology into its products. This enables the Newentor Dehumidifier to drawn in more air, therefore maximising the dehumidification process.
As a result, the Newentor Dehumidifier can collect up to 25 litres in a 24 hour time period. This is definitely on the higher side for a dehumidifier, especially as theDuux Bora Smartcan only collect 20 litres.
The TCL turbo compressor also features an ECO algorithm upgrade, helping to achieve efficient dehumidification whilst saving energy. Newentor states that the dehumidifier’s electricity consumption is less than 4p (34p/kWh) per hour.

The Newentor Dehumidifier also has a bunch of useful design features, including its strong carry handle and power cord hooks. This takes away the worry of having wires underfoot, especially if pets or children are present.
The dehumidifier also alerts users when the tank is full and when the filter needs changing. A lot of models have these features nowadays, but it’s always nice to see, especially as it eradicates the need for guesswork.

Newentor Dehumidifier review: performance
It was easy to use the Newentor Dehumidifier from the get-go, mostly due to its simple interface. The settings are petty self-explanatory, and there are four different modes to choose from. I also enjoyed being able to set a timer, proving to be especially useful if I was heading out the door for work but didn’t want it to be on all day.
The tank collected about 20 litres on the first day, which wasn’t as much as advertised, but this could’ve been down to the moisture in my home. This reduced in the following days, proving that dehumidification was taking place.

The biggest thing I disliked about the Newentor Dehumidifier was its noise level. Despite the motor ‘ensuring efficient and quiet air circulation’, it’s one of the loudest dehumidifiers I’ve ever tested. I wasn’t able to have it on in the living room whilst watching television, and I didn’t even bother having it in the bedroom with me when sleeping.
I found myself wishing the dehumidifier had smart features, especially as I found it too noisy to have it in the same room as me. However, for the price, you can’t complain too much.

Newentor Dehumidifier review: verdict
The Newentor Dehumidifier is an affordable model that reliably extracts moisture from the air. If you’re looking for a dehumidifier that has a large capacity and useful design features, this is the model for you. However, its noise levels and 16kg weight sets it apart from other market-leading examples, and I found myself wishing it has smart features for this reason.
Newentor Dehumidifier review: alternative to consider
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but one of my favourite dehumidifiers I’ve reviewed recently is theDuux Bora Smart. It doesn’t collect as much water as the Newentor Dehumidifier, but it extracts moisture extremely quickly and has an impressive accompanying app.
