In T3’s Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover review, I put this petite hair remover to the test to see if it removes peach fuzz effectively and pain-free. After trying it out for a few weeks, I’d definitely recommend the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover if you’re on a tight budget.
Today, there’s a wide variety of hair removal devices on the market for both men and women. Whether you’re a razor user or you prefer to use thebest epilators, removing hair from your body has never been easier… but tackling the hair on your face, particularly for women, is a different story.
If you choose to remove hair from your face, you need to look for something that’s gentle to your skin. The skin on your face is much thinner than the rest of your body and it can get irritated or marked much easier. So, choosing a facial hair remover which is gentle and will give you long lasting results is a must… like the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover.
Designed primarily for peach fuzz, the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover cuts hair close to the skin and can remove every type of hair for smooth skin on the go. I decided to give the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover a try and here’s my full review.
Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover review: Unboxing
The Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover arrived in compact and cute packaging which contained the removal tool, a small cleaning brush and an instructions manual… that’s it! It has a lychee pink colour, measures 5.4 x 10 x 19 cm and weighs 0.08 kg. It fits easily in your hand and is super lightweight, making it easy to use and travel with.
The Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is a very simple hair removal device and doesn’t require any additional attachments or accessories. It’s battery powered and comes with a AA battery included so it’s ready to go as soon as you open it. Inserting the battery is as simple as twisting the end of the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover to the left and the bottom will spring away so no force is required.

Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover review: Design and features
The Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is designed for women to gently remove the finest hairs on their face, particularly on and around the chin, cheeks, jawline and upper lip. Described as a ‘beauty accessory’, the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover cuts close to the skin and like other hair removal tools, the hair it removes doesn’t grow back thicker, darker or denser.
The shaving head is hypoallergenic and made from corrosion-free materials for gentle use and better hygiene. The blades are self-sharpening and have curved openings to ensure that hair doesn’t catch during the shaving process. The design of the head is also wide to provide better and faster coverage. For touch ups on the go, the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover comes with a protective cap to keep the blades sharp and it has a built-in mirror on the end of it for closer views.
To use the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover, you simply twist the bottom of it to the right. There are little circles and arrows on the bottom to indicate if the shaver is on or off. When you turn the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover on, the blades will start rotating and a full circle LED-light will illuminate it so you can maximise your visibility to remove hidden hairs.

Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover review: Performance
The Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover works extremely similar to an epilator and offers a brilliant performance. As someone who has sensitive skin, I was worried about trying the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover but I found it to be very gentle and didn’t experience any itchiness or redness. The Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover gets extremely close to the skin but doesn’t cause any pain or cut the skin. My skin felt super smooth after using this hair removal tool and the hair didn’t grow back quickly or thicker than before, which I was very happy with.
The size of the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is what sets it apart from other hair removal products. It’s incredibly lightweight and its cordless design makes it easy to throw into any bag for hair removal on the go. The mirror on the end of the cap is particularly handy so you can see your face and peach fuzz more closely. The mirror is extremely small so you’ll have to move it around a lot to see different aspects and angles of your face.
The only negative I have about the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is that it’s noisy when in action. If you want to remove any facial hair discreetly while you’re out and about, the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover won’t help with this as it’s very loud!

Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover review: Verdict
Overall, the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is a beginner and budget-friendly hair removal device that delivers brilliant results. It removes hair quickly, closely and effectively, and doesn’t cause irritation or pain. The petite cute size of the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is easy to travel with and use whenever you want and from wherever you are.
The main negative to the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is its noise and you’ll have to regularly change the batteries as it’s not a chargeable device. Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover review: Alternatives to consider
A good alternative to the Philips 5000 Series Facial Hair Remover is theBraun Silk Expert Pro 5. The Braun device is an epilator for your entire body but some models from Braun come with FaceSpa extras with sensitive and deep cleansing brushes and beauty sponge attachment for facial hair removal.
